Objections have been lodged against a late-licence bar bid to make use of its beer garden after 11pm.
People living close to the White Hart Hotel in Newmarket High Street are opposing the applying to increase using the beer garden to midnight on Thursdays,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], Fridays and Saturday.

But Michelle Hazlewood,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], a solicitor acting for Marston the owners from the White Hart,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], has argued that the beer garden ought to be opened after 11pm to prevent drinkers standing in high street shops.
She said there was currently a chance of public nuisance or disorder brought on by people standing away from bar to smoke,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych].
The White Hart currently has a drinks licence to 2am on Friday and Saturday nights and 1.30am on Thursdays,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], with closing half an hour later. The sub-committee is a result of consider Marston application on Monday.
