E-Shopping during the forthcoming festive months are likely to increase by 350% for any number of products,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], with the Gujaratis taking a lead in shopping online,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], industry body Assocham said on Wednesday.
People may buy mobile phones, e-tablets, consumer electronics, home appliances, interior decor, furnishings, apparel and ornaments the e-shopping way.

At the moment the internet market, estimated at Rs. 6,000 crore, is growing at over 250 per cent annually. India has more than 12 crore Online users, of that around half go for online purchases and also the number is growing each year. With such a large market size, companies, right from retail shops to consumer goods,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], are entering the web space to draw in potential customers.
The client behavior is evolving dramatically. People not just use the Web to book air tickets and movie tickets but also place orders for purchasing cell phones, laptops and other electronic devices and home appliances. In India, customers wait for the festive season to get the best deals on all their shopping needs, Mr Rawat said.
Over 2,000 people participated in the survey conducted at various urban centres across India.
Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) are also shopping more online throughout the festive season. Around the Raksha Bandhan festival, online shopping by NRIs contributed about 40-50% of total shopping, whereas during Diwali, it increases to 85%.
