Inbee Park becomes eighth player to be ranked No. 1 in women's golf
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla., April 15 () -- Inbee Park edged past Stacy Lewis and on Monday became the eighth player to reach the No. 1 spot in the women's world golf rankings.The LPGA was off this past week but Park won the Kraft Nabisco Championship April 7. That lifted her from fourth to second in the rankings. Further points adjustments this week put her at No. 1.Since the rankings began in February 2006 just eight players have been ranked No. 1. Lewis a month ago was the seventh and Park becomes the eighth.Park has a rankings points average of 9.28, just better than a 9.24 posted by Lewis. Shin and Miyazato are former No. 1s.Karrie Webb passes Paula Creamer for the No. 10 spot.
