She barely been in the PM job long enough to warm the chair and she already backed down on the mining tax.
It was only on June 8 when the then deputy PM Deputy Prime Minister Gillard says people in resource-rich states had been left behind by past mining booms and they would benefit from the new Resources Super Profits Tax,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych].

Defending the policy in WA, she said the mining tax was essential and that the nation should be getting a fairer share for the mineral wealth that in our ground and belongs to all of us.
